Its jazz music, someone playing a saxophone. Its not a slow piece, but a rather loud and attention getting kind. It has been sampled into a lot of rap music. I think it is something by Miles Davis. Can someone help me?

Here is the sample

Tell me who is playing the Sax

uh... you could start by giving us some rap pieces? I've never heard Miles Davis sampled in rap.

I'll try as soon as I get home....anything ending in ".mp3" is blocked here at work. :frown:

For the record: Miles Davis played trumpet, not sax. ;)

I'd be willing to be that's not Coltrane. I'm a pretty big fan of his and it doesn't sound like him at all.

I'm almost certain that horn sample was'nt lifted from a jazz album, it probably came from an old 70's funk or soul record. But I could be wrong try looking for it at this site. It's called the sample faq and basically you can look for the artist and the song you're interested in and the faq will match up all the samples that song used. It's pretty cool I've branched out into a lot of jazz albums by just playing around on that site.
