Someone help me build the cheapest possible dual-core sli system..

AM2 the cheapest? Socket 939? Conroe? Pentium D?

If you are getting a 7950GX2 or SLI 7900GT/GTX, why spend the minimum possible on the rest of the system? The cheapest possible would be a crappy old Pentium D but it doesn't make sense.

Try a E6600.

That's referring to the SLI. SLI is a complete waste of money. Also, there's some middle ground between uber-expensive (X6800, FX-62) and POS (Pentium D).

a 7950 GX2 is not a waste of money, since its only $100 than the best single card and offers the performance of 2 cards.

I also chose the E6600 which is middle ground as well

You didn't ask for the build that had 95% the performance of the PC you were talking about at half the price. You asked for the CHEAPEST possible.
