Must be. Buyer is ten minutes away. What are the odds?

they probably made a deal outside of ebay so that they don't have to pay the ebay fees.

Then why go through with the auction at all? Seller would still have to pay a fee on the $100.

No, you're not understanding. Im not saying why list the car, but why finish the auction if the car was sold locally. Why pay a final value fee on $100 when you don't have to. You can cancel everyone's bid and just do it locally. Instead, this seller canceled everyone's bid except this guy that lives 10 mins from him and ended the auction at $100 when it is obviously worth a couple thousand to other people.

Hrmm, good point. But here's my final answer:

Look at the car being sold. Now match that to the owner :p

Advertisement to sell his car. He puts it up, attracts buyers, makes a deal outside of eBay, cancels the auction, pays eBay a cut for only the final value of 100 bucks instead of thousands. Saves him money.

But like Mike said. If you're gonna scam eBay, at least do it all the way and cancel the whole auction to save even more money.

A dealer? One who has more potential buyers than he would if he were in say CA?

;)
