I think if you approached Christianity with an open mind, studied it carefully, and critically considered it, you'd probably decide it was full of crap.

I'm not arguing religious semantics. I'm saying some unnamed higher power creating us as opposed to billions of years of random chance turning mud into people.

There are no proof or even a theory to support it and just the thought itself is weird.

Creation of the world:
Nothing > nothing > 'poof' > the world we see today. 😕
But isnt that what the Big Bang theory also says.. nothing at all > bang > billions of galaxies and so on.

it's more like:
gigantic super compressed clump of elemental stuff > bang > billions of galaxies

No, that's not it. Like all scientific theories, the Big Bang doesn't attempt to explain most of the world that we see today, but instead explains parts of what we see in quantifiable, testable details. For example, the Big Bang explains why other galaxies are receding from us at the rates they are, the existence of the cosmic microwave background radiation, and the abundances of light elements such as hydrogen, helium, and lithium.

However, the world we see today includes the Earth, a dense object consisting mostly of heavy elements produced long after the Big Bang through stellar nucleosynthesis, and that's a completely different theory, and the development of life on Earth is dealt with by yet another theory, and so forth.

I find it funny that so many of you can be so amazingly arrogant about your religion - both Christians and athiests and agnostics. Once upon a time I examined Christianity with an open mind and open heart and found it to make sense. Three years later I examined it again with an open mind and open heart and decided it didn't. I don't judge my Christian friends for their beliefs - until they start to judge mine, then I can throw back my opinion regarding the Christian faith and why it didn't make sense TO ME. I'm not going to declare the entire religion as crap, because it has brought much good (and much evil); it brings solace and comfort to those who need it, and strength to those who lack the will or fortitude to carry on on their own. I can't fault that or attack that, because that sort of reinforcement is simply too personal.
