why do they feel the need to report tv ratings and write articles about courics ratings. Does anyone give a sh1t who watched what news shows besides maybe the new companies themselves. Like isnt there alot better stuff to be reporting on......

If the topic is related to a tv show, especially a new one (read: katie), it helps to give a frame of reference. Basically, it lets you know how many people cared about the show.

well I understand the numbers but why does a normal person care how many people cared? its not like a typical news story normal people will discuss and have interest in. I've actually yet to meet anyone that gives a damn how many people watched fox news last night.

Drudge started his site by posting television stats, gossip, etc. This is something he has done from day 1.
