Someone explain Hulu+ to me

Is the benefit I get from Hulu+ the ability to play it on my iPhone, Acer tablet and 360? Or are there some others features I'm getting as well?
 
you get to play it on other devices and you get some tv shows that are more recent then normal hulu would give you.

It still has ads and to top it off, not everything from Hulu can necessarily be viewed on your iPhone, PS3, etc. Some shows are web only, period.
 
Yup, for some reason, I can't watch cartoons from the 1980's on my xbox. I have to use my mac mini hooked up to my tv.
 
You know what's sad. I actually like commercials.

When I had normal tv service with commercials, my wife would wait for commercials to talk when we watched tv.

Now that we only watch tv without commercials, she pauses the damn show every minute or two because she "just thought of something".
 
It can replace the your cable, the TV show part only. Not the news or sports, that's the only benefit. AFAIK last 4 or 5 episodes of all popular TV shows are available on it
 
Ok not too much benefit to me other than that I can play it on my 360. I'll probably cancel it once my trial expires. Thanks for the info

It's cheaper to just get an AppleTV. Jailbreak the AppleTV and install XBMC on it. You can add free Hulu plugin and watch free Hulu. Best part is you get no ads with AppleTV Hulu. It's the best Hulu.
 
If you have a mac mini hooked to your TV, you can use the hulu desktop application which looks nice on my TV. No + account required.

Can you rewind/fast forward? With PlayOn, you can rewind AND fast forward, and even through commercials.

Plus, there's all kinds of other integration it does (ESPN3, cartoons, PBS, etc).

PlayOn + Roku + Netflix = awesomeness.

You can rewind/fast forward all you want. You don't have to worry about commercials because there aren't any! That's the beauty of Hulu through AppleTV. No commercials. And free Hulu.

Of course you can watch ESPN3, cartoons, PBS, etc. Everything. ESPN3 XBMC plugin allows you to watch live ESPN3 from all over the country and gives you access to last 30 days programming. XBMC has so much stuff that people here have no clue about.

Well with adblock you can block them just like you can do for the free version but still get the message saying it can't load the ad's at times.

But yea, with what's out there it's not worth anything.
 
I wish there was a way to get a cable/satellite package without sports channels. I'd certainly go for a no ESPN/no FSN/whatever package.

That being said, I don't mind commercials. Especially using WMC because it is preset to FF 29 seconds at a time when you push the 'skip' button (or whatever it's called). It takes 5-10 seconds to skip a commercial break.
