Question Someone explain Android notifications to me!

So S9+ running Android 9.

So basically I just want my notifications in the notification panel and a badge on the app icon. What I dont want is a chat head type thing or a mini floating version of the app opening up. I want as little stuff vomited up on top of what I'm trying to do.

Those are app specific things where it draws on top of everything rather than a built-in Android feature. Facebook Messenger calls them Chat Heads and you can turn them off inside the settings of the app.

If you use FB messenger, you might want to try the Lite version of the app (it's an official version too). It *might* not do that.
