Ahhh same here!!! I want to know how to use it but the learning part is so boring!! I atleast got through the first 5 chapters of my (1050 page) book though.
You want encouragement? Think of the good money you'll soon be making once you finish up with your education. Seriously, money isn't everything - look for a great department in a good company to work for.
Want to start programming really cool stuff? Read book then read more books, then go to class and learn, get degree, buy books, read books, books are your friend . If you don't like reading books don't get into programming, books are where you'll gain most of your information down the road after secondary education. It may seem like dry stuff but in three to five years you'll realize that the time you spent reading the dry stuff has paid off big time.
Remeber this, Read, study. Other wise you will wind up like me. I spent 8 years in dead end jobs, going no where, and did not do anything real meaningful until I got back in school. I wasted 8-9 years of my life fooling around doing nothing.
