Someone educate me on LCD HDTV's

What should I look for in general. Size? Brightness? Quality?

Can any LCD be HDTV compatible with an HD Tuner?

And one final thing, what brands stand out more than others?

My guesses are LG, Samsung, and Dell.

DLP has better picture quality than LCD or Plasma, though LCD is available in smaller models (below 42").

What size and price are you looking for?

Cable company, Dish, or just over the air?

Also, Advanced Search of "LCD TV" and "HDTV" in Off-Topic should turn up some good threads.

I agree about the dlp... far better picture and wont wear out pixels like lcd and the mirrors can be replaced... Go to bestbuy, com and read their explinations on pro"s and cons.. really quite informative

I have comcast cable and I just want the best for the buck but still having something that doesn't weigh more than me. 150lbs.

There is a nice DLP 46" under $1600 at GottaDeal.com today, I believe weight is around 70 lbs.

A 61" DLP is only around 100 Lbs, but cost for this year's best (Samsung -8 series, 1080p screen) is over $4,000. The 50" is around 70 lbs and $3,500.
