Someone clarify why one type of hate is ok over another..

Someone please tell me why racism, prejudice, sexism, hate for those with disabilities, hate for those with different cultures and religions is generally frowned upon/scorned when using gestures and words that express your hate for the things mentioned above but it is perfectly fine to hate someone for their personality traits or their intelligence?

Sorry, trying to cover political correctness in one sentence can make it intelligible; What I'm trying to say is why is it alright to call someone a moron, stupid, idiot, slow, a**hole, d***head, jerk, pussy, whiner, baby, immature, foolish, nerd, etc..?

I highly doubt this is a flamebait so don't even bother calling this thread a flamebait, just because I created a thread, doesn't automatically give it flamebait status.

There's a BIG difference between the two types of hate you listed. The first (racism, sexism, etc.) is against an entire race or group of people. Hate against an individual is exactly that... against and individual. Also, the first type of hate is against the unchangeable part of a person or group. The second kind of hate is against things that individuals have control over.

Because most people dont hate because of how somone looks (unless theyre the weirdest looking thing youve ever seen) because its irrelivent with regards to hatred. How somone ACTS is far more important, i hate people based on how they act and what they do, and their personality judges how they act and what they do.

So I should hate someone because according to you, they 'choose' that personality. With that logic, why isn't one allowed to hate another for their hair color/style and or religion? (Yes a bit different but you can technically choose both)

While I'll agree that it's difficult to change some personality traits, I can't accept your attitude that people shouldn't be expected to make the effort. I'm not comfortable with hating anyone, but I'm certainly okay with choosing to hire people on the basis of their traits (e.g. punctuality, sense of responsibility, pride in work, etc.). If you'd rather not make the effort to cultivate these traits, then you can't fault me for noticing your deficiencies. On the other hand, it would be completely unfair for me to discriminate on the basis of ancillary traits that it is impossible for you to change (such as race, cutural heritage, sex, religion, etc.)

But does that mean it gives you more of a right to hate someone because of their personality? Choice or not, I don't see why one should be hated for who they are. This is just as stupid as that thread about californians and new yorkers.. Sure being a laidback, lazy person is an undesireable trait to some people, but not all, I don't see how this isn't true with every personality type. Besides, one doesn't choose their genes which help in determining their personality nor do they choose the atmosphere they grow up in; still think it's valid to hate some one for their personality?
