Someone breaks into your home...

Someone breaks into your home. What do you do?

  • Shoot first, ask questions later

  • Call the cops

  • Hide

  • Try to scare him off

  • Cower in the corner figuring he just wants to steal your stuff and not hurt you

What do you do?

I now realize that option 1 and 2 sort of can go hand in hand, aka.. call cops, then shoot... or shoot and then call cops...

I would say this is what do you do FIRST.

How it occurs: they break in through a windo, you are sleeping, you turn on a light, they dont run they just stand... they are wearing baggy clothing, and by themselves, average build but you really have no idea because the clothes are covering their body size.

Too many variables for a simple answer...but cowering in the corner isn't an option.

i would be willing to bet my life on the fact that you would NEVER attempt to subdue someone breaking into your house...

Oh OK!...? So does that why it's not an option on the poll, because you don't think people would fight an intruder?

scaring him off can equal fighting for all i care... plus I put some situational advice in the thread... so you have no idea what their body build is, nor if they are carrying any weapons.

He's British, so he probably doesn't have the option to shoot an intruder.

Ahh OK.

I could do if I wanted to, but I don't own ammo for my shotgun.

Also there are places in britain where gun ownership is legal, I think what you mean to say is "He's English, so he...."

They're quickly going to be looking at the barrel of a handgun...if they're armed or don't run immediately, it MIGHT be the last thing they see...baggy clothing or not...if they're in my house uninvited...they're about to get "Boomerized," and that's never pleasant.

No, I think he was insinuating that YOU would never fight an intruder.

Ahh I see, I love the assumptions he makes about me having never met me, and having no idea what I'm like. It's fun to watch him get petty and personal.
