I was just doing a regular weekly clean up of the system and after temp file clean up I clicked on the defrag icon and it states

TOOLS

!

The Disk Defragmenter is not installed on your computer. To install it, double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon in Control Panel, click the Install/Uninstall tab, then follow the instructions on your screen."

Well there is no on screen instructions to install it. I saw a add remove windows components but defrag install is not listed in there, I didn't know you could uninstall this service. I also went directly to my C drive properties and selected defrag in there while the same results. Any ideas?

You might try this. Open a Command Prompt panel. Then type defrag.exe at the command prompt. You'll need to specify the drive letter; you'll other options for using the command listed in when you type defrag.exe and hit Enter.

Yep that cmd works. But couldn't get RVN's link to work for me. Looks like I am stuck with the CMD defrag till next restore. I did have some HD errors after multiple reboots during tweaking session. Think I will run check disk.
