Somebody tell a newbie about Sisoft numbers

I downloaded SiSoft Sandra last night and got the following numbers for CPU Benchmark:
2866 MIPS Dhrystone
1400 MIPS Whetstones

It says a Athlon 1 GHz KT133 should do 3111 and 1395, respectively.

I've got Athlon 1 GHz 266FSB AXIA, KT133A, Epox 8KTA3, 128MB Crucial PC133 CL2. Any guesses on why my Dhrystone number less than the example? What is Dhrystone and Whetstone, anyway?

A 1GHz Athlon should get around 2800 MIPS Dhrystone, if I'm not mistaken. 3111 is a little high. What version of Sisoft do you have (2001 is the newest).

I have the 2000 version. I'll see if I can find the 2001 version. Thanks.

I got the Sisoft Sandra 2001 version and it now reads 2811 and 1361 which is very close to the reference 1GHz Athlon. Thanks again.

FWIW it also makes 2941/1441 at 140MHz fsb and 3046/1492 at 145MHz fsb.
