I can see people warming up their cars for a while in the midwest where it's actually cold... but comeon, leaving a car to warm up in northwestern WA?!

Is your wife's hair color blonde?

Is she hawt? Any sort of redeeming feature?

Sorry, I hope the car gets found. The thief should be strung up on a tree, hanging by his genitals.

Most car thieves who steal a car to commit a crime would just dump, and maybe torch the car after they were done. It seems your thieves want to hang on to your car,(sell it somehow, parts, another crime??), only one problem, it wouldn't fit in their garage with that roof rack, and since there's really no market,($$$), for a roof rack that will only fit one car, they just dumped it. An Xterra without its signiture rack, hmmm, gonna be hard to sneak that out of town, even if repainted. OP, your thieves are amateurs, and they are going down!!

Many thieves are also smart, they react very quickly to sudden opportunities, that's why it pays to be a bit cautious.

Well, I guess we have a winner here. "Yes, the correct answer is dump and torch the car, good for $1000, which moves you into first place. We'll be right back to Jeopardy! after this."

Totally stripped of absolutely everything and burned.

Yet somehow it wouldn't surprise me if they posted pics or video of this on Youtube, Myspace, or Facebook.

it's just plain stupid to leave a car running unlocked. surprised insurance fully covered it but it worked out in the end. repaint and sell it on ebay....profit!!

Why would a thief burn a car after they strip it? That just screams insurance fraud to me.

It probably gets rid of any fingerprints, hair fibers or any incriminating evidence.

That is pretty fucked up though

Aztec has got to be one of the ugliest vehicles ever made. I'd rather have an Edsel.

What does your choice of vehicle have to do with it? And why so testy? Did I hit a little too close to home?

Why would someone commit insurance fraud only to replace the vehicle with a slightly newer model? It's not like it's a piece of shit beater that noone would have paid for. I'm sure he could have easily gotten blue book for it had he wanted to get rid of it.

I agree with you, but my ex did insurance claims, and saw this sort of thing all the time. It was amazing what some people did to get out of their cars.

Yes, you did hit a nerve. Instead of life going on as usual, I have to listen to my wife beacause she is upset over the loss of her truck, I have to listen to her tell me how stupid she is for leaving the truck running. I have to deal with my own guilt because I wasnt home...if I was home, I would of been up so I could chase the rat bastards down and protect my familly.....which I did not do that night. I work nights you see, and I have to worry all night now that some scumbag isnt "lurking" in the shadow's waiting to try and use the house key that was on the key ring...and yes, I did change the locks on the house.

I wonder what would have happened if my wife caught them in the act?

I have to listen to everybody say how stupid my wife is, well, if we didnt have douche bag
thieves in this world this really would not have happened.

Ya, Im a bit testy and I'm sorry for the shit head comment, everybody is entitled to there own opinion.
