so some assclown smashed off the mirror on the passenger side of my car. it looks like a pretty clean break and the wires are still all intact and working and the glass isnt broken.

anybody have any idea if this can just be glued back on or something? or will i have to have the entire mirror unit replaced?

i'm hoping somebody here has had a similar experience and can tell me about how much it costs to fix this.

My wife managed to do a number on our passenger side mirror (twice). First cracked the mirror, second broke the casing. Replacement unit (power mirror) was ~$55 on Ebay, easy to replace.

What ever you do, don't let it dangle. I see this now and then and wonder why people don't remove it. It looks like crap and scratches your car. Either totally detach it or glue it in place temporarily until you have a replacement in hand. Shouldn't cost too much though a dealer will charge you about 3 times its worth.

Were you double dipping on parking spots ?

Just this weekend, I saw this huuuge linebacker looking dude jump out of a car and elbow drop the mirror on this mall queen truck. It was parked taking up two spots at the Bart Station notoriously short on parking spaces.. It didn't need 2 spots or anything, it was a regular pickup, I guess he was just feeling speshul. Mirror snapped clean off + he hopped back in the car and drove away. I guess he was frustrated looking for a parking spot.

Anyway, back when we were dating, my wife backed into the garbage cans in front of my house and broke the mirror off her car. I tried JB weld, epoxy, super glue none was strong enough, so I ended up grabbing a new mirror at the junkyard for $15. This was off an older POS ford escort, no electronics or anything.

I remember my friend telling me a story on how he was driving down the street and it was a pretty tight fit (think it was the main street with cars parked on both sides) and somehow he clipped a fat lady with his passenger side mirror and she just tore it right off. Hahahaha.

If you want to glue it back on try this.

I haven't used it much personally, but I know a guy that works on a stone monument place, and he uses it to attach rather large marble slabs to gravestones, walls, etc. You can buy it in small tubes.

SAME THING Happened to me. This Bitch flings her door open and I was in the car and my side mirror flopped up but there is some spring action and it sucked itself back into place. She's like 'Sorrea' with a slutty tone and drove off asap. then parked and made a phone call a few hundred feet away. I guess she wanted to do that in the parking spot but didn't want to hang around after that.

Some one busted both of mine off once when my car was parted in a empty dirt lot by my friends house. One of them was just gone, the other was danging by the control line.

A few months ago some waste of skin did the same to mine, and I was parked perfectly fine at a local mall. What a waste.

its a 2006 scion tc. i wasnt double dipping on parking spots... it was parallel parked on the street in front of my apt. a person definitely had to do it because it was on the passenger (sidewalk) side of the car. who knows maybe some big fat lady walked by or something.

oh, and i just realized that the mirror wiring is still working, but the blinker light in the unit doesnt work. man this is lame.

i havent been letting it dangle, luckily its wires are long enough to let it hang on the inside of my car.

some drunk ass probably snapped it off. there is a bar a block away from where it was parked.
