Okay. My name is TJ Van Cott. I've been living in HELL for 5 years. This place is called "Yellville, AR". This place is in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!!!! 97% of the people here are absolute idiots. They are all imbred!!!!!! My family is one of the, oh 10 decent families here. I am the only computer nerd in this town and definitely know more about computers and technology than anybody in this whole friggin region. We pay $70/month for crappy phone/Internet service. I'm running my server off of 33.6 K right now. We live too far out to get ADSL and the morons at the telco won't negociate. To even get ADSL with a static IP for my server, we'd have to pay an additional $99/month to our $20/month phone bill. I just want to know if there is anybody out there that knows of something I can do. THIS PLACE SUCKS A$$!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA. (Thank you for listening to my rambling)

Ethernet cable is limited to around 300 feet (technically). But i've ran it over 800 before no problem. I would suggest single mode optical fiber - You could easily do 5000+ meters.

Life is what you make of it. You have a few options: a) make the best of what you have where you are or b) strive actively for better (ex: move) ).

I live in a town with no cable or DSL. If you want high speed, you pay for satellite. In this town, there is no Wal-Mart and no McDonalds. It has a newspaper, a few gas stations, a Hardees, and a few other places such as an insurance office, bank, etc. The nearest movie theatre is 30 miles away. The nearest mall is over an hours drive away. The isn't much to do in the way of fun here, but I make do with what I have. I garden, read, ride my bike, and do any other number of activities. Try getting a hobby or finding things of interest. See what you come up with.

Lol, Brutuskend, I was in a fussbudgety mood one day and deleted it in the hopes that a newer sig would come around. Turns out I'm a terrible sig hunter. I need to get some sig hunting dogs to sic on the mods so they'll cough me up a new sig.

I'm in a tiny town called Crewe in Virginia. Good luck finding it. It's a small dirt spot just off of 460.

And please hurry up and rescue me. Thanks to the drought and some horrible town planning, it's estimated that the town has roughly 25 days worth of water left. I have no idea on how they plan to get more. The ironic thing is that they just built a brand spanking new water tower to supply the geriatric hospital here. Problem is there's not enough water to fill it.
