Some x64 "key's" Hosed !

Windows XP x64 Pro Tech ED Advancement OEM

Today I had a Appointment by phone with only 1 of 4 x64 key guys. at M$.

I was with him on the phone for 1 hr.

He cant Re-activite my Key...........

So we went threw hell and "HE WILL" be there soon, lol here's why.

x64 Pros if you use them alot on one machine. We are ALL HOSED !!

Yep, He even gave me a new key and all the goodies etc..... STILL a NO GO !!

So, I "HAD" x64 Pro, LOL !!! ,"So is vista x64 a Godsend at the moment, YES !"

Apparently Microsoft is handling Windows XP Professional x64 license keys differently, in that they cannot be reactivated past a certain number of activations.

Although I'm inclined to think that it's false, Microsoft has always been willing to reactivate as long as I give them a good reason.

Yeah. There's absolutely no reason for MS to handle XP X64 differently, except that all XP X64 is OEM. Since you aren't allowed to change motherboards, it'd be pretty tough to EVER be required to re-activate XP X64. Even if you did a complete re-install, it'd be tough to exceed the allowable "re-activation limit" for online activations. How many drives and NICs could you change? Unless you change the motherboard, your chipset, your BIOS, and your NIC will always be identical.
