Berkeley, CA. Spotted this stuff on a building at the NE corner of University Ave. and San Pablo Ave. and decided to take some pictures. Went by yesterday and had my point and shoot with me, so parked in the 99 cent store lot, went inside looking for another killer deal ($1 pocket size scientific calculator), but all they had were much bigger calculators, meh. So, went and took my shots.

The sun was out and that kind of messes these up some, I should do it again on a cloudy day, but these shots kind of get the point across. I suppose not just one artist, judging from the tags at the right bottom corner.Graffiti 1.jpgGraffiti 2.jpgGraffiti 3.jpgGraffiti 4.jpgGraffiti 5.jpgGraffiti 6.jpgGraffiti 7.jpg

That's good stuff. It's a shame in the second photo some jackwagon tagged over it a bit with crap.

I like when cities work graffitis/murlals/urban art into the environment. One of the cities I work in has a ton of city commissioned murals and graffiti. There's a pretty famous David Bowie mural that's huge on the whole side of a large loft apartment building. Also a Shepard Fairy mural. And many others. I saw this guy working on his art in a new area the city opened up to a bunch of artists just this summer, so I snapped a photo.

Here's the David Bowie one for a sense of the scale, not my photo

Graffiti is really cool. Here are some pictures from an abandoned train tunnel.

Cool to see actual effort going into stuff like that. Here they just scribble random crap and there's no effort whatsoever. There is a guy that has been going around for years now spraying "rizler" everywhere. They got my workplace a few times too. Our building would actually be perfect for someone to do actual art on it and think someone even tried to get permission for it once but it never went anywhere.

Pic of graffiti I took tonight. Dim your room lights, put it on full screen, and squint; it's really there and cool as cool can be.

i used to love this simple graffiti that i would pass by every day

it was a big fat cigar with the word "FAT" painted next to it
