Some ways to swap sim cards between iPhone 4s and iPhone5?

I need to swap cards between these two phones, but as you probably know one has a mini sim and the other micro sim. One needs and adapter, and the other needs to be cut.

I have no time in my week to go to a cell phone store to have them sell me different sim cards. Tried calling the company but they said shipping will take a while, and they sound suspicious of me as if I'm trying to commit some illegal crime or something like that...

I'd buy a cutting tool on Amazon, but not sure how well they work. Don't want to ruin the card. Anyone done this before and can confirm that its safe?

Is this a thing you're going to do often or is this a one time switch?

If its one time, I've trimmed a couple of micro's down to nano and they never quite fit right, but I didn't use a cutter.

I would really recommend just going by the store. They should just give you one. Every time I've gone to an AT&T store to get a different SIM, it's not taken but about 5 minutes.

You can cut it down since the contacts are the same. I've done it and it works, just look online and find a template for the nano sim then glue it on top of the micro sim and cut off the excess plastic.

I didn't use a tool for mine btw, I just used an exacto knife and it worked fine. I've also cut down a normal sim to a micro, and I cut up a micro to make a nano to micro adapter, the contacts on all sims are the same it's just the plastic that's different.

Will the store let you have 2 SIMs, one of each size? I thought they would disable the.mini when you get the micro?
I have the same dilemma with my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 4.

I thought I would need to get a micro and an adapter to put it back in the mini slot.

The iPhone 4S and 4 use the micro sim while the iPhone 5 uses the Nano SIM. There is no such thing as a 'Mini SIM'. I think you should just order one for 10 dollars. it will save you from having to do any sim card sculpting (which can go wrong). If you want to try your hand at cutting it then go for it and then only if that doesnt work just order a new one.
you can place an order online with any provider. Once you have the SIM card (2-3 days delivery) then call the provider and ask them to swap numbers. This is easy and quick provided both new and old SIM are on the same network. the call will take ten minutes and the number will be swapped automatically within just a couple hours of the call.

Strictly speaking, the older, larger style SIM card that we refer to colloquially as a SIM is a Mini-SIM. When the entire credit card sized piece of plastic is used, that is a SIM apparently.

Yeah the safest thing would be to get a nano sim and buy an adapter tray online. I made an adapter tray out of an old micro sim so I could use my nano sim in my N4 but I was pretty careful about it. Since you only have one sim that probably won't work, you'd have to cut it perfectly in one go.
