some virus attacking help needed

number one...get good AV

number two be very wary when using "sharing" tools.

turn off system restore, reboot into safe mode, run av and spyware...

reboot into normal mode

run av and spyware again.

For a better free antivirus, uninstall Avast and try this. After installing it, configure it as shown, update the virus definitions, reboot into Safe Mode and run a full Scan My Computer scan, and see where that gets you.

Do you have any suspicions where the virus came from?

drag, no offense.....but Clam AV has a pathetic detection rate. Even Avast! is better than the bearded clam. :thumbsdown:

Mech offered a fine solution, and you can also run the McAfee command line scanner using the latest beta dat's for a second opinion. This way you don't have to worry about installing anything. Click my sig for more info. :)

However the red X looks like a fake security alert trojan. Download my rogue removal kit and follow the readme.
