Some tiny Folding@Home questions

I joined TA's effort on the Folding@Home project 3 days ago with a PIII 800.

I installed the GUI tray client, but I've also downloaded the console one. I installed the GUI client as a service (in W2K) using FireDaemon, so it would run even if noone is logged in the computer. Everything seemed OK at first, changed the username, joined TA #198 in the configuration menu. Today I went to check the progress of the WU and it reseted back to zero (the last time I checked it was on 46/100), so I ask any Folding@Home team member the following questions:

Is it normal that after 72 hours I haven't finished a single WU?

Is it normal that the WU reseted this morning?

I'll be leaving the machine running throughout the weekend to see if it crunches one measel WU, if not I'll be switching the computer back to ECCp.

Thanks everyone

You probably already downloaded a new WU if you saw it at 0. You can go into the directory where the F@H files are and check the date/time stamp for the work.dat file.

Also, you might want to consider just running the console version with Firedaemon rather than the GUI. GUI's are always slower. :)

Thanks for the reply, here's the time stamp:

its 25-02-2002 17:58

I've switched the GUI for the Console client in FireDaemon so I'll check on Monday for the stats...

Hopefully that will make a difference. I know there are a few larger proteins out there, but for your machine, the average one should be done fairly quickly. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the help Poof,

Do you know any monitoring software for F@H?

Like one that tells you the progress on network PC's, since I'll be switching projects when ECCp-109 ends (probably in November'02) and this F@H seems to be the right one to do next.
