Hello Im in the process of building my first full computer and I think I got a pretty good setup on the major items here but wanted some final input before I invest the $$$.

Asus A8N-SLI Premium
AMD 64 X2 4400+ w/ Zalman FS-C77 CPU Fan
OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 1GB Platinum Rev 2
BFG GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked
OCZ 520W PowerStream

Is this a prerry stable setup? I might dable into overclocking later on once I learn some more into it so is this a good setup for overclocking as well? Thanks in advance for the input.

EPoX EP-9NPA+ SLi
Save yourself some money & grab that one, unless you have a thing for Asus.
Another good SLI mobo if you feel you need an SLI one: MSI K8N Neo4/SLI nForce4 SLI

You could likely go with the X2 3800+ & OC to 4600+ speeds if you want also.
4400+ is nice though.

Best air cooler right now: Thermaltake Big Typhoon.

Only 1 GB of RAM with a 7800GTX?!
These days, you need 2 GB of RAM for smooth gameplay with in newer games.
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR

I would've said that Powerstream was excellent till my OCZ Modstream died after only a few months, & i found out they aren't all that good actually.
The Powerstreams might be okay; i'm not sure.

Here's a good alternative. SeaSonic S12-500 ATX12V 500W

Oh, & welcome to teh forums :)

Should I just skip the SLI option since I highly doubt Im going to drop an xtra $500 bucks for another 7800GTX... I just wanted it incase I came across some cash and could afford another one.

Also the MSI K8N Neo4/SLI nForce4 SLI only has a 1000 MHz Bus and the Asus A8N-SLI Premium has 2000 MHz...will that make a deference when it come to performance/overclocking?

My reasoning with going with an SLI board (soon when I get money) is that when I buy Card A1 right now for $400, I can buy Card A2 for $100 in a year or two as an upgrade. In your case it would be another 7800GTX.

sli is a bad option if you think about upgrading to it later on. think of it this way: you buy a card now for 500 bucks. a year later, when the card is 300 bucks, you buy a second, total 800. now the route that makes more sense, you pay 500 now, save 30 bucks on non-sli mobo. then, you sell the card for 200, and buy another 500 video card. total cost including the savings on the mobo: 770. oh, and that new video card will probably outperform the two older ones in sli, 6800ultra and 7800gtx being an example.
