Ok i just got a brand new IBM Thinkpad T42.. Specs:
1.7 ghz dothan
512mb ddr ram
64mb Radeon 9600
15" 1400*1050 monitor
etc..
Anyway, i have some questions regarding it..
1) When i play doom 3 (only game i've installed so far but i imagine it's the same for all games) at resolution less than 1400*1050 i get black borders at the endges of the screen, ie the game doesn't stretch out to fit to the monitor.. Any idea how i can make it do that? PS i'm using Omega drivers for my card. My friend suggested fn+spacebar but that didn't work.. My old hp laptop had a bios setting for it, but after a quick search in bios i didn't find anything to enable it..
2) Ok WOW. This computer comes with like 20 IBM programs that loda up at startup lol.. What ones can i turn off?
And, i did a doom 3 benchmark..
My desktop computer is 3.4 ghz p4, 1gb ddr ram, overclocked radeon 9700 pro, and using the same config on both machines i got 55 fps timedemo on my dekstop and 44 on my laptop.. VERY nice imo, i wasn't expecting to be able to play doom 3 tbh
