Some system tray icons hidden

A few icons on the system tray, including AIM are hidden (they are set to always show in the properties, and there is no arrow to expand the tray). Any ideas?

If you're using XP, try this:
Right click the gray area of the task bar, and choose properties.
Clear the check box that says "Hide inactice icons."

If you already have this set (as your posts suggests), then I'd try removing/reinstalling AIM, etc.
