Heres what I have so far:
AMD 2400+
Asus nForce2
40GB 7200 HD

Heres what I need some suggestions on:
Memory: At newegg.com, I found that MUSHKIN PC2700 256MB ($85) to be the best "cheap one". There is a Kingmax for cheaper ($78), but it does not have the heat spreader. There is the Crucial XMS for $98 dollars. The MUSHKIN only got a 4 star while Kingmax and Crucial got 5. So which one would be the choice I should go for? The Crucial looks great, but 200 bucks for two sticks of RAM? The Kingmax is very good for it's price, but no heat spreader. I'm not going to over clock very much, but I suppose I will a bit. Which one should I get?
Video Card: At newegg.com, for $66 dollars is the Sapphire Radeon 9000 64MBs (200Mhz Mem Clock). For $72 is the Sapphire Radeon 8500LE (Unknown Clock) 64MBs. Which is faster or better? Note that 8500 is not certified by ATI (9000 is) and I've heard Sapphire is notorous for thier bad drivers. Whether this is true I do not know. And has anyone heard of Powercolor? They have a Radeon 9000 that memory clocks at 366 MHz... faster then Sapphire's 200Mhz clock.

I would go with a better video card with such a nice processor and mobo. A GeForce4 Ti4200 perhaps? Too bad you missed out of the 128MB Ti4200 for $90 at Best Buy on black friday :( The Radeon 9000 is compared with the 8500LE here though it is a 128MB 8500LE. ATI's naming conventions are a bit misleading if you ask me ..

Sorry if I wasn't much help but welcome to the forums :p

Thanks :)
I also have another problem on my case. I have 5 case fans, and two cold cathodes. My power supply definitely cannot handle all those while supporting my drives. I was told to get a split for those, but where? And is that the right thing to get?

Yeah, If I had the money, I would be going much higher heh. I only have the budget for system about 1000 dollars (no higher then 100 for video card).

even if you dont want to overclock you can run the ram asynchronous to the cpu frequncy, so have cpu at 133 but ram at dual channel 166mhz or even 200mhz i think is possible

what you should be looking for is pc2700 at least and higher imo

mushkin has made good quality ram, as has corsair
any one of the two would be consistant for overclocking

i would get 8500LE and overclock to 8500 levels
its not that hard, and its a nice easy way to get 8500 instead of paying for one ;)
9000 is meant to be the lower model of the 9xxx level cards....kinda like ti4200, ti4400, ti4600 is the top half for nvidia, and mx460,mx440,mx420 is the lower half for nvidia
