Now that I am rid of consoles, looking to get back into pc gaming. Looking for decent single player shooters, action adventures and rts. Please post your suggestions

Nothing that's PC exclusive but I'd recommend -

Saints row 4 - this is awesome....even if you disliked the others I'd give it a try
Xcom - Get the hang of the game then launch a Classic Ironman...its nail-biting fun
DMC - I suck at the combos but the level design was cool and an overall good game
Borderlands 2 - its over a year old but I cant stop playin...new DLC still coming too

If you want a good single player shooter, the last really great one I played was COD MW4.
A bit old now, but much better than the later games in the series. Also the Battlefield Bad Company games were not bad. And I second the Borderlands games, either one or two.

RTS games, are subjective, and unfortunately not made as often as shooters now, but there are many older ones such as the Age of Empires series, Battle for Middle Earth series, and Supreme Commander and SC Forged alliance that are really good. And of course there is always classic Starcraft and the new Wings of Liberty and Hots.

For action/adventure, hack and slash, have to recommend Titan Quest and Immortal Throne along with Torchlight 1 and 2.

rts sadly is kinda dead right now. Starcraft 2 was decent but Company of Heroes 2 was meh.

Planetary annihilation seems like a good concept, but I was kinda bored with it on my first few plays, nothing seemed compelling at all. I said I would go back to it when it gets closer to release to give it a fair shot.

XCOM
Supreme Commander Forged Alliance (old but great and usually on sale)
I really enjoyed C&C 3 plus expansions. I did not like Red Alert 3.
Company of Hero's, first version isn't that different than the second version is you are looking to save a few dollars.
