I'll be ordering a 640mb 8800GTS this week since I'd fed up with the delays on both Nvidia and ATI next gen cards. Why wait till May when I can enjoy my life and my PC now?

Anyway.. I'd like to know these things:

1)Will this card fit in my Lanboy case? (there was a thread floating around but that was about the g80s that came out in november. I dont know mabe they changed the size.. Just want to make 100% sure)

2)Will the OCZ 600w fit in my case? (need to be sure 100%)

3)Will everything work with my old system? (yes I know the CPU will bottleneck, - i dont care as long as it works) Will I need any additional wires? Connectors? Any other stuff?

4)I want to get a Leadtek Winfast g80. I was always a fan of evga above all else, but I have no choice since the price on evga was just raised on egg, and there's no longer a rebate. The Leadtek is only $340 after rebate, which is a hell of a deal even with the risk of no lifetime warranty. - Does anyone have experience with cards from this manufacturer?

1)It should fit. I think someone managed to put a 8800GTX in a super lanboy. I have an 8800GTS and also a lanboy case laying around. I could measure it up for you if you PM me so I remember.

2)My 420w PSU (which is longer than the OCZ 700w GameXtreem PSU) fit in the Lanboy fine.

3)Everything should work fine.

4)No experience with Leadtek unfortunately.

1) Yes it will fit.

2) Yes it will fit.

3) Yes it will work.

4) for Leadtek. I had one of their A6600GT's. Worked (and still works) great. Sold it to my brother.

A little OT, but have you guys seen any good deals on the 8800GTS 640mb?

Looking to upgrade, but I haven't seen any deals that have made me pull the trigger.

I am in a similar boat as you. I too have watching 8800GTS 640mb cards. I just saw the Evga rebates drop BUT then came right back. I have been watching that Leadtek as well, I have owned a Ti4400 and it worked well, I did notice with that card and design the heatsink didn't make a full connection to the ram and after I reapplied it with a better compound it made a huge difference. That's apples and oranges though, just my only experience with them. I would just up the $20 and get the stock clocked EVga.

About waiting, if you need a card now then go for it. Waiting the next 6months will save you an entire $20-60? If you have games that you want to use it for now, then go right ahead. As long as you use it then it will be worth while, no way around cards dropping in price after you buy them.

That said since I have a 7800GT still, I think I might hold off a few months till the 8900 release and compare the performance increase with more shaders (hopefully). Who knows I might buy the 8800 then for just a bit less then it is now. Well I am tired and rambling... so good luck.
