Some serious video problems happenin'

So recently my motherboard fried, and I replaced it with an Asus A8v (I have an Athlon 64 3500+). I was dual booting Ubuntu/Vista beta, both worked flawlessly. I decided that Vista was too buggy so I reinstalled Windows XP. Ever since, I have nothing but problems. The system will either go blank, get all destorted, or just plain restart, anytime I'm in Windows in any mode other than "Start in VGA mode" (640x480 8bit). I installed the latest Via drivers and the latest ATI drivers, made no difference. Any suggestions?

Did you load the motherboard/chipset drivers after you installed Win2K? There should have been a CD with them that came with the motherboard. Also, are the video drivers brand new? If so, try a slightly older version.

How did you like Ubuntu? I've been thinking about giving it a try.

Yep, all the proper motherboard drivers are loaded. As for video drivers, I tried the ones that come standard in XP, the ones on my original CD, and the latest on ATI's site. None of them worked.

I've been in Ubuntu exclusively for about two weeks now, and I've had it on my system for a year. As far as Linux goes, its the best I've used, but I'm still not a huge fan.
