Some Rockstar accounts compromised

I got an email yesterday that my email on the account was changed. I contacted support still haven't heard anything.

I googled the situation and at least one person said they use lastpass and their account was also compromised.

Be careful I guess.

You sure that e-mail was legit?

Yeah because I can't log on with my password and if try to reset my password I don't get any email to do so. It basically said all info regarding my account will be sent to: xxx_xxx@hotmail.com.

And it's the guy's first and last name which when I looked it up is of Turkish origin. Also the only link on the email is: "if you didn't authorize this change please contact support@rockstar.com"

So I'm afraid it is. This has happened to others. A simple google search shows others posting about the same issue.

Happened to me a few months ago with my Steam account. Then with my Skype account.

Skype/Microsoft still doesn't believe its my account. I can't get through to a human and I don't remember my security question.

So sure, the person in Russia is the obvious owner of the account created in America....um...okay. fine. keep it.

My account is still hijacked and I can't play GTA V since last week. Not a peep from Rockstar.

And also I can't believe MS cannot handle their accounts properly. I mean they expect us to use their cloud services. I really don't know what to do.

mine was compromised. but google searching online through several different sites, it says that started helping people out, but you can't go through email. The first time I called Rockstar support, they gave me a ticket number through my email and said there's nothing to be done at this time. Just sit tight and it'll be corrected. The second time I called in, they immediately handled it, including changing it back to the proper email address, and having me set the password.

As it turns out, my language has been changed to Russian, and the country of origin was Russia. Looks like the Russians had a few days to play with my account/games!

Anyways, call in and they'll take care of you right then and there.. Took no more than 15 minutes.

Happened to me as well. You need to call them a few times on their U.S. Customer care for it to get corrected.

Email doesn't work. They don't check emails I think.

Finally this morning someone contracted me and asked for info. They reviewed my account and allowed me to reset my password. The country was changed to Turkey.
