Some religious people are funny.

No, they are picking apart stupidity.

Come on nik, you know you have done the same. Just because it is religious doesn't mean it is any less retarded.

No, these people aren't going around "LOOK AT WHAT WE'RE DOING!" they're just doing it.

You people are running to them and pointing fingers and laughing. That's my problem.

Duh. Thus the reason they haven't given up hope and faith yet.

Hmm... I guess I see your point.

But then again, we still laugh at the people in the darwin awards and say what stupid people they are. And many of those people aren't going around saying "look at what we're doing!"

See my point? While I can see yours now, and maybe we shouldn't be laughing at these people, I don't think your post "you people always picking apart hope and faith" is quite on the mark. I don't think that this thread had so much to do with "hope and faith," more with "stupidity."

It is sometimes a very difficult thing to differentiate between one's own emotional feelings and what God might be telling them. These people are probably very confused about this right now.

And ffmcobalt... I'm guessing here, but it's possible that others would be more receptive to your ideas if your icon, emotion faces, and signature didn't all scream, "HATE!!!!" But you are only 6 posts away from 20k.

To someone who doesn't believe, of course it's going to be stupid.

If you don't have the capacity to relate or empathise in an understanding manor.... then... then... then STFU.

Maybe. But it's for me, really. Each time I see my avatar and signature, it's almost like a stress relief. I'm freaking on edge.

Besides... nobody here is "receptive" to religion anyway.

Once again my friend, your unbeknownst sense of irony has lightened my day. I really ought to thank you.

If that's what you want, then fine. Atleast it gets you away from flaming me.

Very true. IMO, in their grief, they have forgotten that the miracle they are hoping for is very selfish.

For someone who claims to have faith, Nik has some serious issues with patience, anger management, and tolerance of others' sins. Unfortunately, all of this is common to the modern view of Fundamentalist Christianity.
edit: but we love him anyway, right? :p

I think we'll have to just disagree on this one. I don't feel like getting into a flame fest.:)

While I agree that there is too much anti-religous sentiment here, I think you are getting too defensive about religion. I have seen it in other posts of yours as well. Sorry if I offend.

Goodness, that's heartbreaking.

I'm more focused on the fact that those people lost their beloved baby son more than anything else.

<---off to give her kids some hugs
