Some RAM advise for conroe builders

I was talking to a tech friend yesterday that has done 4 conroe builds so far and he was saying that RAM compatibility has been a major problem with the new conroe systems.
He said the only thing that has worked so far in those builds is Corsair RAM, and not the cheap Corsair value RAM either. Definitly not any OEM brands.

What type of motherboard? Was it the same motherboard in all cases? From what I've heard and seen, the conroes work great with the value ram unless of course you OC.
 
I'm using G.Skill DDR2-533 4-4-4-12 here and it's working fine, on an Intel DP965LT motherboard.
