What's the cheapest laptop with the GeForce 6800 Go card?
Would a non dual core AMD laptop be able to be upraded to dual core with a chip swap (and possibly bios flash)?

My only comment is that you probally couldn't do a "swap" for a couple of reasons in my mind:
1. Increased size - would need modding to make it work
2. Increased heat - again would need modding to make it work.
3. Increased amount of power required - not sure how to get around that one if it won't boot.

I think the heat problem might be the worst.

I have a Dell 9300...its a pretty nice laptop with lots of horsepower (for a laptop). From a Display standpoint it is very pleasing and its gaming performance is way more than satisfactory with the 6800 Go chipset.

He never specified that he wanted a dual core AMD. He might've been talking about a dual core Intel chip.

*BUZZ* You are both wrong!

The HP ZV6000 and the Compaq V4000 use socket 939 chips. So yes, if you can get the MOBO's BIOS to support dual core, the socket will be pin to pin compatible for the X2 chips. The only issue might be the fact that both models are currently not Dual Channel (Might be a hardware or BIOS issue) and I think that might be a bigger hit on the performance of the dual cores because of the reduced bandwidth.
