I just did my first overclock (well, first CPU overclock, since my Geforce2 Pro is currently at 255/475) on my Shuttle AK31 v3.1 and I have a few questions, if anyone can help.
I moved the FSB from 133 to 144 on my Athlon XP 1800+ (1530 Mhz to 1656 Mhz) using Crucial PC2100 DDR. I'm not too worried about the RAM, but I AM worried about my PCI components, since the PCI bus has now moved from 33 to 36 Mhz. Is this still safe? Anand says in one of his articles that most PCI components are built to tolerate up to 37.x Mhz, but has anyone ever noticed problems even before that?
Secondly, my BIOS reports that my memory is running at 266 Mhz, but it should be at 288 Mhz, right? I have my DDR clock set to my CPU clock in BIOS, but it doesn't seem to be using that setting (in which case I guess I wouldn't be worried about my memory after all). Anyone know how to get it to do that on my Shuttle board?
Thanks!
EDIT: Spelling in title.
