Some questions regarding Wi-Fi adapters

Hi all,

Within the next week, I will be moving out, into a house where I won't be able to have access to an internetcable for my desktop PC - just Wi-Fi. This means that I will have to purchase a wireless adapter or a USB dongle. Before I buy something that doesn't work properly or optimally, I had a couple of questions for you guys:

Should I go for a PCI-E adapter or a USB dongle? Space isn't an issue.
Is it worth it to invest into a more expensive product?
I have been told that you can also use a router instead of an adapter, (how) would this work?​

My budget is around €30,- but I am willing to spend more if I have to; I download and play games a lot.

Personally, I would invest in a PCI-E adapter. I don't understand the router question. You need a router connected to your modem to get a WIFI signal.

This is the Best solution.

It based on Routers Wireless Router that can be configured as a Wireless Bridge.

PCIe is Good only if it has an Antenna with a cable that position it above the computer.

In general.

Many PCI Wireless cards end up with little antennae stuck low behind the tower's metal back panel and the wall, thus the puny 33mW signal is grossly suppressed.

USB (I am talking about full size USB Module with an external Antenna not a
"silly" Dongle/Nano) can be used with USB extension cord and put high above the system thus provides better propagation, or use a PCI card that it’s Antenna is extended via short coax.
