i just bought the following printer
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16828112035

it has a 50 $ mail in rebate.
it says i need to send
Mail in a copy of this fully completed rebate form with the original UPC code from the product
package and the original receipt showing the purchase of the Samsung ML-2010
Monochrome Printer.

is the reciept the one that comes in the box or can i just print the email confirmation. also any tips on making sure i don't get burned by the rebate.

packing list is usually good enough but to be on the safe side send both..make copies of all submitted docs and have postoffice weigh and place sufficient postage on the envelope(getting it cancelled by the postoffice at that time is nice as well)..gl

I have had a rebate refused by Newegg before(about 18 months ago) when they claimed I did not send the packing slip(which I did and always do).

Go to newegg.com, go to your account, click Order History/Print Invoice, and print out the actual invoice. Don't take chances with rebates...while some of them might be OK with the packing slip, some of them will deny you for no reason.

so its the invioce i should send. i would prefer sending stuff i can print (so in case i have problems i can print it again). just to confirm do i need to send the packking slip ?

edit
and what type of mail should i use.

thanks all. i will fedex it the invoice printed (by my shiny new printer).
thasnk for all the tips.
ps. btw how long dopes it take to get back a rebate. and also do they send cash or a cheque or do they credit your credit card

ok guys thanks for the info.
one thing though.
i sent the rebate via usps first class certified mail. cuz fedex was costing upwards of 20 buck.
Is sending via fedex important ?

I always do rebates via usps. It'll be fine.

Just as an FYI...I don't think the guy suggesting FedEx was being sincere. If he was, he is paying WAAAAAYYYYYYY too much to send in his rebates.
