some questions on my new comp...

ok so i just bought two new rigs: one with P4 2.8c and ASUS P4S800D and the other with AMD mobile 2400 and ABIT NF7-S v2. The P4 rig will be used for Autocad and other graphical jobs and the AMD will be used for gaming and schooling. Now onto the questions.

1. Which video card should i buy for each rigs? budget is around $125 to $175 for P4 rig and about $125 to $150 for AMD rig.

2. Should i get SATA HD's and RAID it? If yes what are the benefits?

3. Name your favorite cooling method (fan brands/models, methods ) for AMD rig.

4. Which ram shoudl i buy? I was thinking about getting 1GB for each rig and was looking towards MUSHKIN and OCZ but feel free to make any suggestions regarding these. Budget is around $200 (i know that they are a little more expensive than that... ) please tell me the benefits of each of your suggestions.

I will answere 2 and 4.

2. Yes get SATA and use raid (I would use RAID 1 for backup purposes)for the P4 machine running AC but the AMD box for games will be fine with a normal IDE.

3. OCZ for the P4 and just about anything for the AMD

why have 2 systems when you are working to a budget?

not sure on prices in the us so i cant comment on videocard

describe exactly what your priorities are cause at the moment it sounds like your just throwing money at it.

im building one for my mom who is in need of a new computer for her architectural studies and other graphical work, and the other one is for me. I have a PIII 800 and i figured it was about time i upgraded. And I have pretty high budget because i dont intend to upgrade for another 4 - 5 years
