hi,
maybe someone can help me out.
On my new system i have an OLD toshiba 8x cdrom drive.....i could enable dma in windows for it with my very old pentium166 system.
Now i have dma enabled for my hd (at least this work).....but when i enable dma for this old CD-Rom drive i get lockups as soon as there is an access to the CD-rom. I have both drives (hd and cdrom) each on an ATA66/100 cable connected as master on IDE1 and the the CD-Rom master on IDE2.
Can i maybe enable DMA when i take an old ATA33 cable ?
Modem:
I have that cheapo creative modem from newegg (the $18 modem).....sometimes my sys freezes connecting. I use the drivers on the CD which came with it. The drivers on creative's website seem OLDER than the drivers on CD.
Anyone an idea how to get the modem a bit more stable ?
thanx !
