OK, I'm very interested in becoming a Subscriber to this site. I figured I visit it constantly so it'd definitely be worth the $30 for a year.

I just had a few questions though that maybe other subscribers or the moderators can answer for me.

1) I am on a 256/128 DSL line at home. Will I see a noticable improvement on load times for the forums given my fairly slow connection?

2) Can I use my login at any computer? For example, when I login at work, home, or my parents house, obviously, the IP address will be different everytime. I just wanted to know how that worked. I don't want to be mistaken for giving out my login/pass to people and be banned or something when it's just me logging on from several different locations (obviously not at several places at one time) throughout the course of the day (work in the morning, home at night, parents place on the weekends sometimes, etc.)

3) I'm sure I don't have to worry about this at all given the awesome support on this site, but if this site were to all of a sudden close down, do subscribers get their money back at all? I understand the payment is non-refundable but is there an exception if the site went down for an extended amount of time? (Yes, I know it's only $30. I'm just curious)

4) If I pay by credit card, how long does it usually take to activate an account and start using it?

Well, I think that's all for now. I hope these questions are ok to ask. Thanks for the answers. Looking forward to becoming a subscriber :)

There is a noticeable improvement on 56K dialup.

Do it, you won't regret it.

Subscriber Video
Non-Subscriber Video

Also note that the non-subscriber video only loads half the thread, since I wasn't logged in my preferences weren't used.

So you can DOUBLE the speed advantage of the subscriber forum.

I have a question. What happens If I were to log in from 2 different IP addresses at once? Would I instantly be banned? BecauseI would like to log in at work and I also like to keep these forums as my home page on my home comnputer. But if my wife opens a browser at home while Im on at work it will show 2 connection from different ips. Even though she will quickly change the page to something else. Anyone know more?

Also If you subscribe can you have 2 browsers logged in at the same time from the same computer?

I have a question. Since the subscribers use subscriber.anandtech.com, when you click on a link that is from forums.anandtech.com, will you access the page as if you were a non subscriber? Thanks!

why not try the $12 subscription first, to see if you like it before plunging $30?

If you spend more than 10 hours a month on AT it's well worth the $30/yr to become a subscriber.
