Ok, I did do some research before posting here but was unable to retrieve the answers I'm looking for, so I thought I'd ask here.
I own a evga 7800GTX.
Question #1:
My stock GPU speed is 450 but whenever I start a game or some other 3D app, somehow an extra ~40MHz are applied, totaling 490MHz. With some games more MHz are automatically added, with other games less, but the avereage seems to be 40MHz.
I am getting this info from tools like Everest Home (other tools report the same thing, ie 490 instead of the stock 450).
It's bad that I am not able to depend on the GPU as I do want to overclock myself. But if I can't be sure by how many additional MHz the GPU will clock itself, I don't want to risk OC'ing to far.
Sure, I can already hear some of the replies saying to just compensate for the additional MHz being applied when I OC, but if I can't be sure by how many MHz more the GPU clocks itself, it's impossible to get an exact OC.
Question #2:
Whenever I change the application profile for one app, ALL the profiles change, instead of just the one that I intended to change. Why bother with a multitude off profiles if ALL profiles are changed anyway??
