Question some questions about memory and compatibility

We are building the following for gaming:

Intel 4770k

1660 TI

MSI Z87-G45 Gaming mobo

https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/z87-g45-gaming.html

Support four DDR3 1066/1333/1600/1866*/2000*/2133*/2200*/2400*/2600*/2666*/2800*/3000*(*OC) MHz DRAM, 32GB Max

We might overclock

I have the following RAM options:

  1. G. Skill Sniper DDR3 21866 (F3-1866-C10D-16GSR) (CL 10-11-10-30) (2 x 16GB)
  2. G. Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 (FR 12800CL9D-8GBXL) (CL 9-9-9-24) (2 x 8GB)
  3. Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (CL 10-10-10-27) (2 x 8GB)
Im not sure of the implications of DDR3 to modern games. I've been out of computers for quite awhile and wasn't sure if #1 is overkill for this system. I think I originally bought it years ago to future proof the gaming system. Im building another basic office PC for light gaming with the remaining parts. I could always sell #1 if it isn't going to give me a boost in performance.

Also not sure about the latency 10 (versus 9 on the Ripjaws) on the Sniper as compared to its much larger memory size than the Ripjaws?

Also, will this motherboard automatically recognize #1 or will it require a bios update? Im not sure what the asterisk means for 1866* in the motherboard specs. I want to see this boot out of the gate and worry about BIOS update later.
