Some probs with an AMD compy

when the computer tries to copy anything across the network, the copy will hang (we can end task it), and the mouse cursor freezes (but the mouse still moves; it just does not have a cursor). The mouse has been randomly doing the latter for awhile now. Also, I've tried plugging the mouse into a USB port, but it does nothing (no drivers, no workie). System specs:

Duron 800
Abit KT7
256mb Ram
20gb Maxtor 7200rpm
Innovision Tornado GeForce2 MX
Sb Live Value
Linksys LNE100TX 10/100 Fast Ethernet
Microsoft Intellimouse (optical)... pluged in via PS/2
Microsoft Internet Keyboard (PS/2)
250w Enlight ATX powersupply

You probably have a driver issue. I don't think there is any such thing as an AMD compatability problem. I found that most people who are having problems with the KT7/KT7-raid haven't installed the proper mainboard drivers. Go to the via website and get the 4 in 1 driver patch. That will probably take care of your problem.

what OS you running? I wouldn't call this an AMD compatibility issue, you're jumpin the gun here. What IRQ is your NIC on? Is it sharing w/ anything else? I had a similar problem, except any file transfer (large) would hault and reboot my computer. ACPI was my problem.
