Some problems with HP TX2Z laptop.

I got a new tx2z-1300cto laptop. I formatted the computer and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7. Windows 7 installed most of the drivers itself. I manually installed the multi touch / touch screen driver from the ntrig site ( http://www.n-trig.com ) but multi-touch is not working. In my hp touch smart software none of the multi touch apps work. How do I get multi touch to work?

Also I have a "unknown device" in my device manager. I cannot figure out what device it is. Anyone know how to find out what driver I'm missing?

Lastly, there is 3 buttons on the side of the screen. One has an Icon of a gear, the next has a icon of a wave, and the last button has a icon of two arrows making a box/circle. Right now these buttons do not do anything. How do I get them to work and what do they do?

the gear is win mobility center shortcut button
no idea on the wave
the 2arrows rotates the display by 90deg

I think the Wave button would do a direct launch of the HP Mediasmart App in Vista - but I'm not sure it would work in Win 7.

Before you blew away Vista and installed Win 7, did you uninstall the N-trig drivers and roll back the Firmware using Program Uninstall?

If not, then you've got Vista Firmware trying to talk to Win 7 drivers - probably not going to work.

I would do a Program uninstall of the N-trig driver/firmware bundle using control panel, programs, uninstall - then shut down, restrart and try to run the N-trig installer bundle again. I've heard HP is soon to release a 4 finger bundle Win 7 bundle on their support website - but I haven't checked lately.

Good luck and let us know how you make out...

I got the unknown device to go away and I got the three buttons on the side to work. I installed some of the drivers from the hp site.

The only thing that I cannot get to work is the multi touch...actually I'm not sure how to check that it works. When I go into HP's software suite and use the sticky note app and try to use the two finger swipe to make the sticky note bigger it doesn't do anything but if I was in firefox or windows explorer and do the same type of two finger swipe, I can zoom in and out of pages.
