Some problems installing drivers for my GeForce3 Ti200...

Everything goes fine - it copies files, etc - until the very end, where instead of telling me that the installation completed successfully, it tells me, and I quote:

"An error occurred during the installation of this device.

The system cannot find the file specified.

To close this wizard, click finish."

Now, to me this is quite wierd, as I've installed video (and other) drivers many many times, and never had any sort of problems like this. I'm running Win2k Professional with Service Pack 2, on a Pentium III 800 (133mhz fsb) with a brand new Gainward Geforce3 Ti200 (the Ti/450 Golden Sample), plenty of hard drive space...

Anyone have problems like this before? Know of a fix? Someone on the Video forum suggested I reinstall windows.. but that's a pain, and I'd like to know any other options I might have.

Thanks in advance for responding.

I took a screenshot of the last screen of the installation to see if that would help someone zero in on the problem. Any help would be much appreciated, someone told me that my best bet would be reinstalling windows, but I really don't want to go through the hassle...

You'll need to copy/paste the url, since geocities is crappy about stuff like that. Oh, and if you're wondering what's going on in the background... before, when I would point it at the NV_DISP.INF file, it would shoot to the oem0.inf file in the windows system dir - for some reason - so one method I tried was moving this file out (and sure enough, it finally actually read from the .inf i pointed it at).. be assured, though, that this same problem was happening before I moved that file, so it's no biggie.

Update:

I took out my GeForce3 Ti200, and stuck in my old Kyro2. Installed the Kyro2 drivers fine. It works fine.

This pisses me off. Any ideas? Please help!

Which driver version are you trying to install?

Have you fully "cleaned" the old drivers before trying the new ones?

Trying to install the latest drivers from nVidia. I've fully cleaned as much as I know how: taken them out of the hardware listing, and uninstalled any software that would show up in my uninstall programs menu.
