my parents live in navarre beach, the beach that got nailed by dennis. my dad said ivan was worse because it moved in slow, but dennis moved in fast, causing less damage, but the beach looks decent.

my fiance and i went to visit my parents and my siblings, heres some misc. pics at navarre beach.

Navarre used to be my old stomping grounds during the summer. My best friend's parents had a house on Pensacola Bay just north of there where we'd spend most of our summers so we used to hang out at Navarre all the time. Good memories. 🙂

It's changed a LOT in the last 10 years though. It used to be relatively undeveloped (at least as far as high-density/high-rise condos go) but now it's really getting built up as it's one of the last stretches of pretty beach along the north Gulf coast which hasn't been completely developed already. Just about everything else from Gulf Shores to Panama City has been thoroughly developed.

I haven't seen it since Dennis, but have heard pretty much the same thing you're describing (i.e., Ivan for the most part was far worse.) The president of my company has a house directly on the beach in Navarre and it received only minimal damage during Dennis.
