I figured I'd share what it looks like where I'm spending my christmas.

nice sunset shot. every photographer tries to take pictures of sunsets, but those are some really nice ones. :thumbsup:

I especially like sunset #2 - the wide screen view. It would make a great jigsaw puzzle with lots of un-pattered areas of subtle color change. Enjoy your Christmas in the Filipinas.

I love the sunset, the water is amazing, and the boat silhouette is awesome (so basically, I'm in awe of both shots ), but I'm not feeling huge love for your composition in the first one.

In the portrait, I think you should have pulled it down to the start of the blue sky/red divide at least (the blue sky doesn't add anything to the shot, imho).

The second one is awesome

You remind me (as my director recently did with his D300), how awesome sunsets are in when you've got the kind of pollution/volcanic ejecta the Philippines has/had going on (after Pinatubo went was particularly impressive).

Awesome pictures!!! I haven't been able to shoot like that yet...Sadly that pretty red sunset that everyone is trying for requires air pollution, natural or man made.

Hey nice pics. Sunsets are not easy. I have some really great ones that I took in Bonaire way back when that Volcano erupted in Washington years ago. Some of the colors are outstanding. That was in 35mm slides, I just got a film copier so I can make digital. If you want I'll send you a link.
