The only shot that I used a strobe with was Image01. That was with an Alien Bees B800 w/ softbox and a B400 bounced from an umbrella.

All of the other shots are available light shots.

looks good. i like your b/w conversion. the only thing that looks strange is #3... her face looks way too... plastic-y? i don't think you edited it but her face just doesn't look natural.

oh #1, i wish her hair didn't cast a shadow over her right eye! :)

I couldn't get rid of the shadow in #1 - it was actually more of a candid than planned...she was kinda resting and then posed that way for another person who was shooting and I fired one off quickly.

#3 there is a bit of a glow filter - that's why it looks that way. I have several versions of the photo - regular color, regular B&W and that's kind of a toned B&W w/ glow.

Nice work, Odin. The 50mm f/1.4 is a great lens. I have always liked mine.

I like #1 a lot even with the shadow on the right eye. For me that looks natural, relaxed, and real.

Have a nice, safe trip to Denver. It sould be OK by now.

Looks great! Can you post some more EXIF data on the shots? I have a 40D and I'm trying to learn more how to use it myself.

Also, how much PP did you do?

I'll have to post the exif later.

But I did a decent amount of post on these. Obviously the B&W conversions. For portraits I typically do some smoothing - remove any blemishes, etc. I removed some wrinkles from under the eyes. Sharpening of course. Some eye/teeth enhancing mostly to bring the eyes out a bit more than the light allowed for. I did a special vignette/edge burn on quite a few.

I really like these :)

I wish I could get someone to do this stuff with me :(

What was the purpose of this? What's your relation to the model?

Wait, then what was the model's purpose? Did she just feel like having pictures taken by some random guy? Or was she building up her own model portfolio?

Apparently she is interested in acting and wanted some headshots and such.
