This was actually pretty funny. I sat down here at the lab to check email/msg's and read here for an hour or whatever, and the old-ass printer is messing up, one of the computer's "doesn't have a printer" (being complained to by somebody), and then someone can't check their hotmail account from the computer next to me. Which was quite funny... he slams the keyboard once, opens IE again, has the same result... slams the keyboard again, saying like 'ugh.. dammit' or some incomprehensible grunt of dementia. Then finally after 3 or 4 times and getting the same result, he gave up and left... he seemed genuinely pissed off! That he couldn't check his hotmail! ... I don't know about you, but that seems pretty bad!

I hope he immediately got the IT department involved to correct this most heinous error on their part!

It's funny. I help a girl with her printer problem, and instantly I'm the new tech or something. The guy next to me's just like "blah blah blah" ... some problem... hahah.

It's surprising how little the people actually go get the techs here, when they have a prob. They either try to fix it (ie, hit it or something) or just leave..

:p

Well, to some people email is important that is why they have all these wireless things you can read/send email. Its like if you came home and could not open your mailbox while you know there is mail there.!

Trust me I know. :)

Being, well, me... I've ran into my share of problems. I don't usually end up smashing stuff.. not the computer at least! Venting at the gym usually helps a lot more, since hitting a bag doesn't hurt or damage something.

It was just a funny sight, cause it reminded me of my brother who has a very poor temper..

Did you get in her pants or are you planning to? ;)
Yeah that happens to me all the time. I help my friend with his router/win2K network problems and his dad wants me to check out their network as well. I live about an hour away.... :D Bt I guess it won't hurt to help out. One more recommendation on my belt.

I know what you mean. My sister got a computer one year before I did. By the time I had my computer I was already building a second. Funniest thing was that when my motherboard arrived she kept calling it the "mothership" or something like that. I have since build her a computer and she asked me so many silly questions.

I can totally relate to that. But when people don't know, it simply is not silly (to them). Like... if you ask a car guy what a carburator is, he's gonna feel like he's explaining stuff to a complete dolt, right? But from the family guy's point of view, it's a harmless innocent question. Ok, it may not be a great example, but whatever.

I know what you mean though, cause my sister asks me 'silly' computer questions a lot ... Well she used to, she's learned a bit now, finally.

RSI , has your coworker tried hitting the lower left side of his monitor with the palm of his left hand ? A guy I work with is convinced this action will work on most any computer related problem :)

(not that it matters, but I'm at cegep [college], not work) : no, he didn't say anything, nor did I see him try such a tactic, ALTHOUGH I wouldn't be surprised at all! It's funny.. hitting the monitor to fix a computer problem. :p
