Some people just don't have respect for other's property

So I was coming out of NYSC (I finally brought myself to start losing some of these stereotypical geek fat), and I get into my car as some other guy pulls up in an SUV. When he opens the door, he taps my car (it was audible from inside my car while I was sitting in it). So I get out and start inspecting my door panel to see if there was any damage as the guy starts to walk away. As I am going around, and bend down, the guy turns around and is like "What's your problem". I said, politely (I made sure of this, because I didn't want to make a scene) "Sir, you hit my car with your door as you opened it." Then he said "No I fvcking did not". So I said, "Sir, I heard you hit it, so I am inspecting my door." He begins to walk off, and I didn't notice any damage. I can't tell if there is any damage yet, because it is dark out, and my garage only provides so much illumination with flourescent bulbs. I took down his license plates number just in case there is any damage. Did I do anything wrong in how I handled the situation? I just wanted to vent, because I hate how people have no respect for others property, and this is one of the reasons why I will not park on campus at my high school.

Sounds like you did everything in your right to do.

On a side note, I just got a check for when my friend's gf hit my car 🙂

Yeah, you're probably on the hook for it. You could try small claims court, but I bet your insurabce company won't touch it.

Well, there isn't any damage as far as I can tell (yet), but was I wrong for getting out of my car and looking to see if mine was damaged. What bothered me the most was how the guy talked to me when I was going to see if there was any damage.

I'm looking for more mature responses.

yeah... you could say..."I'm sorry sss..siirr.... pleeassse d don't bbee at me up, I'lll just shhshut up like a lil byeatch and go on my way! I ddin't mean to ddisttt turb your peace." And then do what you always do, go home and cry, or, cry here.

Don't key his car, that's chicken shiet.... but you can give his tires a breather.... 😉

I know I would just cuz the guy is a jerk.

that dude was just asking for his car to get keyed. I'm not for this, but if someone gave me any attitude after they hit my car you'd be damned they'd have at least a disgusting loogie someplace extremely noticable when they returned

take a big big dump on his hood

and yes u were right to inspect your car. im paranoid about mine. people driving pieces of shiet dont care about their car so how could they care about someone elses

this is why I just completed 6 mo of anger management. bend over and take it like a man. Park in bumblefvck next time.

I usually do, but NYSC parking lot is small, and packed.

He knew he hit your car. Otherwise he wouldn't have said anything and just kept walking. If I parked my car and saw the guy in the next space looking at his door, I wouldn't have any reason to say a word.

This reminds of last year... I was going straight on the main path of a parking lot and someone took a left in front of me. He went around me, blocked my car, gets out and starts to get in my face about it. Before he stormed off, he punched my hood.

To get a compensation for a barely visible knuckle print, I'll have to take him to court to resolve it. I said forget it.. Not worth the time.
