right, of course you'd say something like that...

now, i know you obviously have no idea what you're talking about because you're talking shit about world-renouned, well-respected radiologists just because they happened to be chiropractic radiologists. just stfu and leave the thread... seriously. you're not doing anyone or yourself a service by sticking around and showing everyone your ignorance and stupidity.

LOL world renown and I've never heard of them. I'll make sure to teach my residents and med students never to pick up a book by those jokers.

Why did you feel the need to capitalize the first letter of every word of the thread title? Very odd.

because that's how you properly capitalize the title to this thread...

it depends on which style you adopt when capitalizing your titles, whether it be the german style, the all caps style, the american style, etc. today, i decided to go with the all caps style because i thought "Some People Are Dumb as Hell About Their Health" to look funny.

It's the fact that you tried to pose and sound like you know what you're talking about. I pointed out your horrible xray techniques regarding collimation, increased scatter, increased radiation dose, decreased image quality and sure as hell not going to find breast cancer with shitty techniques.

The link I posted talked about mammography, an x-ray technique. Lucencies on xrays indicate that there is little attenuation of the xray beam...meaning that the object being imaged is not very dense. Breast cancers are relatively dense compared to background breast fat and will not show up as lucencies.

I'm just pointing out the fallacies of your arguments but you won't listen to reason. No use arguing with a rock.

and i responded to your arguments. my technique is not horrible and it wasn't horrible on the patient. if i were to be using plain film, yeah, my image wouldn't have come out for shit. however, like i said, i have digital x-ray. i can manipulate it to see what i am looking for in my one shot. it really takes the art of taking an amazing shot out of it. as for radiation, digital x-ray decreases dose by 80%. no harm whatsoever.

as for the radiolucency argument, i apologize. i meant radio-opaque rather than radiolucent. you're right. i misspoke. i didn't even realize i misspoke until you just pointed it out.

No wonder I've never heard of the geezer. He's been dead for 20 years. The world of radiology has changed by leaps and bounds during those 2 decades.

You want to learn real musculoskeletal imaging? Try Resnick, Stoller or Helms.

no, terry yochum is still alive and teaching med school. i met him a couple years ago at my school. his father, however, is dead.

there is a newer edition out, but you can't preview it in google. i linked you a version you can preview.

.. snip ..

I don't know anything about Terry Yochum, never heard of him. Neither has a radiologist acquaintance of mine. So really, I don't know what his point of view is.. but I ask, out of ignorance, can you find any non-"chiropractor radiologists" that back up his work? It just seems silly to me that a current radiologist has never heard of this Yochum fellow, who you claim to be an absolutely brilliant radiologist.

http://www.theamericanchiropractor.com/articledetail.asp?articleid=228&category=8 <--- in this interview, yochum references various radiologists... one of whom, resnick, who happens to be a radiologist psoas referenced, wrote a foreward for yochum's book.

my friend who got his m.d. from vcu used yochum and rowe as one of his radiology textbooks while in med school... same goes for one of my friends who went to washington university. my radiology textbooks were by yochum and rowe, marchiori, brant and helms, and bushong (boring as hell)... i wish the professors could have found better texts than marchiori, and bushong. they were awful. i never really touched brant and helms, so i don't really know how it reads... i never had any time to actually go through it.

This arguing has kind of made me want to go to a chiropractor to see what they do even though I don't have any back pain.

so, i asked her if she'd ever been shown or taught how to do a breast exam. she hadn't. so, i had to pull a female staff member in the room and explain and show her how to do a self-exam. then, i told her that as soon as she leaves this office, she needs to call her pcp and schedule an appointment immediately.

Props for finding a valid excuse to feel up that hot nurse...

lol fuck yourself, you patronizing idiot. i've gotten better? in what respect and/or context? how was i wrong in the first place for me to have improved myself? what, oh mighty dark swordsman (great name, by the way, basement-dwelling shithead), is it that you think i've "learned"?

i posted links in the past to articles that mercola has written. suddenly, i believe everything the guy says? really? is that true for everyone who references someone who says something true and supportive of their point of view, regardless of whether or not they disagree with other things their original reference supports? do you really think obama wants to kill whitey because his former pastor spouts anti-white racist remarks?

eat shit.

Awww, resorting to personal attacks? I thought you were above that?

They don't do anything. It's a scam and like all scams it is perpetuated by word of mouth - that's what this thread is, it was supposed to introduce people to the idea of chiropracty as legitimate science or medicine. See, it worked on you, you want to go now. :awe:

Yes its amazing how folks with serious health issues will neglect their health for a cell phone or a pack of smokes! I see it all the time. Can't afford their medicines but they have that Iphone or Blackberry!!

exactly. i don't understand how our priorities in america got so jacked up to where eating mcdonald's for lunch a few times a week is more important than actually taking care of problems that you are trying to sweep under the rug and minimize.

You know, I am not the biggest fan of chiropractors, but I think Eits did absolutely the right thing by this woman and is getting unecessary flak from the peanut gallery.

As for the thread topic, if you want to get cynical fast, work in an operating room. The overweight diabetic smokers who are repeat customers for wound debridements in between CABGs make it hard to conjure up the compassion everyone expects for you.

lol, the guy who came in after her was an overweight dude who's head looked like it was about to pop. his face was red and his eyes were pink. without looking at his history, i asked him about his blood pressure... he said he's having it managed. last time he checked, it was 120/78... bullshit. what does he do right after we're done with orthopedic tests and shooting x-rays? he goes outside for a smoke.

/facepalm

Did he have jugular vein distension?

Did he have jugular vein distension?

couldn't tell... his neck was too fat and short (iirc, his neck measurement for the x-ray was about 13 cm). normal arms and legs, pendulous abdomen and fat neck (not cushings-like or anything... but the typical fat, hypertensive white guy). he stated he was having his bp managed, so i wrote it in my notes, reminded him to get regular check-ups, and moved on to his case history.

It's obvious from your posts that you care about proper capitalization.
