"Uh oh potential problem with the
9. Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse $9.94 after $20.00 dollar mail in rebate.

This isn't the fancy mouse with a side programmable button is it? I did a search for Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse at Staples.com and found these two mice. Which will be on sale:
$39.99 Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse
$59.98 Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel

Whaddya think?
"

Hey RossMAN - WhaddaI think? I don't think it's either of the two (2) Logitech cordless mice you listed. In going to Staples' website and actually manually searching through product categories (Technology / Peripherals / Input Devices / Mice & Trackballs /), there are four (4) different Logitech cordless mice are listed:

Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel Mouse
$59.99 - SKU 440521 - No Rebate
Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel
$59.98 - SKU 391658 - No Rebate
Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse
$39.99 - SKU 378770 - No Rebate
Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse Special Edition
$39.98 - SKU 442877 - $20 Rebate

While the last two (2) listings above fit the product description (Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse), *only* the latter has a $20 Rebate listed on the product description page.

*But when you click on the rebate hotlink, it comes-up as,

"Product Search: 22036

No Products Found

Please search again below.
"

So, when you consider that "This special edition (cordless mouse) is only available during the holidays"; comes with "Three (3) snap-on backs in silver, metallic red, and soft-touch blue/green flitter"; and, has an on-page hotlink for a $20 rebate that hasn't been activated yet - I think that's about as close to a "Red, White, and Blue" cordless mouse as you could come-up with for a President's Day promotion. I think we have a winner!!!!

Be careful people, the 20 GB hard drive is only a bare hard drive, not a kit, and the controller card promo specifically states that you have to buy hard drive kits. I could be wrong, but wanted to throw in this warning anyway. The 20 GB hard drive kit definitely qualifies though, my friend just bought one, and it had the controller rebate sticker right on the box.

"...I could be wrong..."
YOU ARE!!!

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago, and it had the $50 promotion sticker on the box! Please don't start scaring people when you have NO IDEA of what you are saying...

858diver is correct, staples.com does not sell the bare drive version of the 20GB/5400rpm drive. It does appear to sell the 7200rpm version as bare and kit.

Hope they put that cordless mouse up on the website. No Staples store anywhere near me. I have both the Cordless Mouseman Wheel and the Cordless Wheelmouse Special Edition. They are great! Could always use an extra for work.

Listen, 858diver, don't jump all over my back, I admit that I was wrong, the hard drive number is K01, so it qualifies. However, I was right in saying that the only possible hard drive that would match this rebate is not a kit. And the rebate does say hard drive kits, but then goes on to give numbers for bare drive models--nice wording.

Lanyap, they do sell the 5400 rpm 20GB drive only, see this.

This is most likely the hard drive that is the one posted as on sale, since it is normally priced $99.99, and has the $20 rebate already.

I donno about those delta cdroms. I have one that works fine. Had it for about a year now.

I think it's a heads/tails kinda thing. Sometimes you get good hardware sometimes you don't. For me the price (at the time) was worth the risk.

But hey, I had a p75 Packard Bell that never had any hardware problems so maybe I've got good luck with hardware? :)

I was in Staples and grabbed a copy of Logitech Cordless Mouse rebate, since they don't have one online for some reason (despite the link being there). It is SKU 442877 one, and rebate says it must be bought between 2/18/01 and 2/24/01, so it is not just the President Day Weekend promo.

Of course, Staples rebate dates tend to be a little wacky anyway. The $30 off Creative CD-RW drive has between Feb 19 and Feb 20 on the front of rebate, between Feb 18 and Feb 20 on the back of the form, and between Feb 15 and Feb 20 in the online version.

Takan,

The drive you referred to, 444012, is a retail boxed kit version of the drive. I ordered and received this drive last week. I'm using it for the ATA100 IDE card rebate deal. I just ordered another one last nite. Not sure why you think it's a bare drive. From past experience, if staples shows drive in a box then it is a boxed retail version, if they show a drive only, then it is a bare drive like this

I'm still waiting for my rebate from Delta for my previous 50x cdrom that I bought :)

Just because they have rebates doesn't always mean you'll eventually get a little check in the mail. "*Opps, it was lost."

Takan:

Please understand that there are many of us who depend on this board for info and facts. I for one do not post statements unless I have something to back it up with.

If we write our opinions as though they are fact, we clutter this place up and take away its value.

Guess I should practice what I am preaching and shut up.;)

Lanyap, I guess I confused the title that Staples.com are giving the kits. Why would they label this kit just "hard drive" and then the other kits, "hard drive kit". Blame this one on me trusting the typist at Staples.com to be consistent and accurate. If you look, they have a 20.4 GB hard drive kit too, so I assumed (yes I know what that means ) that by it not stating "kit" explicitly, it meant it was just a bare hard drive. Again, sorry for all the confusion I might have created.

Picked up the EZ Cam at a B & M for $39.99, and was able to PM today for $29.98 price at my local Office Depot. After $35 rebate, I will end up making $5 on the deal!

Is Staples scrambling to pull all these deals off their web site, ie. pulling the rebates, their web site is currently down for maintenance, etc.? I'll bet they got bombed with people ordering this stuff ahead of time and figured it out. Glad I printed out all my rebates from their site when I first ordered.
